Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Cable Technician for a contract-to-hire role in Indianapolis, IN. You will install and maintain network cabling, terminate jacks and patch panels, and set up routers and Wi-Fi access points to ensure reliable connectivity.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or equivalent, can lift up to 75 lbs, is comfortable climbing ladders, and has a valid driver’s license. Strong communication with on-site clients is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with hand and power tools, cable testers (such as Fluke), and blueprints or technical diagrams.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors or in confined, elevated spaces.
• Driver’s License: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record for traveling to job sites.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication and customer service abilities for interacting with clients on-site

Responsibilities

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
