Job summary

Five Star Infrastructure Services, dBA InterCon/Five Star Energy Services/M&C Utility is seeking a field technician to prepare work sites, locate utilities and install gas mains and fiber optic cables. You will help with pipe routing, trenching and equipment setup, while strictly following safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Willingness to travel.
• Ability to bend/kneel/stand/walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred.
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work sites to locate utilities and eliminate hazards.
• Signal operators to assist movement or alignment of equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Configure pipe routes.
• Assemble gas piping and equipment.
• Follow safety standards during digging trenches, laying pipe, grading trenches, and sealing joints.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
