Job summary

InterCon Construction, Inc. is seeking a skilled construction generalist for gas and utilities installation in Monroe, Wisconsin.

You will prepare work sites, locate utilities, assemble gas piping and equipment, and configure pipe routes to ensure safe, efficient operations. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Willingness to travel.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Bent/kneel/stand/walk for long periods.
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred.
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate hazards.
• Signal operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Configure pipe routes.

• Follow safety standards throughout process, including while digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, grading trenches, and sealing joints.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
