Job summary

InterCon Construction in Wisconsin is seeking a qualified construction worker to install gas mains and fiber optic cables, following safety standards and completing pipe installations.

Responsibilities include preparing sites, loading materials, assembling piping, ensuring proper alignment, and covering lines with dirt. Must be able to travel and lift up to 50 pounds, with a high school diploma expected; CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Willingness to travel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and walk for long periods.
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred.
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred.

• Load, unload, and transport construction materials and tools. Configure pipe routes.
• Assemble gas piping and equipment. Follow safety standards throughout process, including while digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, grading trenches, and sealing joints.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License Class A CDL preferred.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull 50 pounds regularly.
• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred.
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred.
