What you’ll do as a Laborer

• Participate in all phases of underground construction: loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various construction materials and equipment
• Hand dig using shovel and mechanical tools
• Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
• Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Work in congested or remote areas
• Maintain visual and audible contact with crew members and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safety
• Perform general construction work under supervision
• Flagging, property, or worksite restoration
• Maintain safe working habits and conditions per regulations, procedures, and policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a medical card
• Basic knowledge of utility trucks, equipment, hand tools, and safety practices
• Effective communication skills
• Regular and timely attendance

Physical abilities & exposures

• Perform duties for at least 8 hours/day, 5 days/week; overtime, after hours, weekends possible
• Stand, crouch, sit, bend, reach, climb, balance, crawl, lift, and handle objects in various conditions
• Work while wearing safety gear (boots, glasses, hardhat)
• Work in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, fog)
• Potential exposure to dust, fumes, airborne pathogens
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs as needed

Pay Range: $23 - $25 per hour
