What you’ll do as a Laborer

• All phases of underground construction include but are not limited to: Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weight of construction materials and equipment
• Hand dig using shovel, mechanical tools
• Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
• Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Work in congested or remote areas
• Maintain visual and audible contact with other crew members and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
• Perform general construction work under the direction of Foreman/Supervisor
• Flagging, property or worksite restoration
• Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience
• A valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various utility trucks and equipment safely
• Basic knowledge of and ability to handle hand tools and equipment safely
• Effective communication skills with customers, employees, etc.
• Regular and timely attendance

Physical abilities & exposures

• Must be able to perform the above tasks for at least 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. Overtime, after hours, weekends, emergencies, or on-call work may be required.
• Ability to stand, crouch, sit, bend, handle or feel with hands and fingers, reach high and low, while wearing safety boots, glasses, and hardhat.
• Work in adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, sleet, dust, and adverse driving conditions.
• Potential exposure to dust, fumes, or airborne pathogens.
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed, with or without assistance.

Pay Range: $23 - $25 per hour
