What you’ll do as a Laborer

• Participate in all phases of underground construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various construction materials and equipment
• Hand dig using shovels and mechanical tools
• Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
• Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Work in congested or remote areas
• Maintain visual and audible contact with crew members and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination
• Perform general construction work under supervisor's direction
• Flagging, property or worksite restoration
• Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the U.S. for this company
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a medical card
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate utility trucks and equipment safely
• Basic knowledge of and ability to handle hand tools and equipment safely
• Effective communication skills
• Regular and timely attendance

Physical abilities & exposures

• Perform physical tasks for at least 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, with possible overtime, after-hours, weekends, or on-call work
• Stand, crouch, sit, bend, reach, climb, balance, crawl, lift, and stoop during shifts
• Work while wearing safety boots, glasses, and hardhat
• Work in adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, sleet, dust, and fog
• Potential exposure to dust, fumes, or airborne pathogens
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed, with or without assistance

Pay Range: $23 - $25 per hour
