Job summary

Lambert's Cable Splicing Co. in North Wilkesboro, NC is seeking a Laborer Telecom Aerial to support an Aerial Telecom Crew in the installation and maintenance of fiber and telecom cables. The ideal candidate will be engaged in various physical tasks including providing necessary tools and materials, ensuring work notifications are completed, and performing maintenance on company vehicles.

The position requires compliance with safety protocols and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Benefits include weekly pay, paid time off, insurance, and more.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Certified pole climber or willingness to become certified.
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Aerial Telecom Crew with installation and maintenance of cables.
• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed.
• Ensure all notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work.
• Maintain all company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools.

At Lambert's Cable, as a Laborer Telecom Aerial, you’ll support an Aerial Telecom Crew with the installation and maintenance of fiber/telecom cables and materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed
• Ensure that door‑tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on‑call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
