Lambert's Cable Splicing Co. in Elizabeth City, North Carolina is hiring for a Laborer Telecom Aerial position. You'll be responsible for providing support to the Aerial Telecom Crew with the installation and maintenance of fiber and telecom cables. This role requires working in various weather conditions and performing physical duties, including lifting up to 55 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license (not Provisional) and acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to become a certified pole climber.

Responsibilities

• Support the crew with tools and materials.
• Reposition vehicles and ensure compliance before work starts.
• Maintain company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform hand digging and direct traffic as necessary.

What You’ll Do

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directedEnsure that door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
