Job description

We have immediate openings for Laborers. The candidate must be willing to work on a construction crew. Must be willing to work on a crew assisting in construction activities (manual labor) for the placement of various underground telecommunications cable / fiber and/or sewer pipeline installations. Willing to be on-call rotation to assist their team. We are looking for motivated, team players, and hardworking employees who are looking to grow with our company.

Responsibilities :

• Performs general construction work under the direction of a Foreman / Supervisor
• Hand digs holes and trenches with a shovel and other hand tools
• Basic knowledge of underground cable locating
• Ability to operate various types of trucks and equipment
• Responsible for transporting equipment and materials
• Install underground telecommunications cabling
• Flag traffic, set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, and barriers
• Perform daily walkarounds and alert mechanics of any defects
• Communicate effectively with customers and employees

Qualifications :

• Climb into and out of equipment (cars, trucks, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Know and obey all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Rules and Regulations
• Repetitive motion with hand, wrist, feet, head, and shoulder
• Work outdoors in diverse environments
• Work in congested and remote areas
• Stand or sit for several hours at a time
• Work in small / sometimes confined areas
• Work at variable heights / depths
• Lift / carry up to 75+ pounds
• Reach, bend, and stoop during work
• Maintain visual and audible contact with crew members and moving objects for safety
