Job description

Laborer Apprentice

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Apprentice responsible for learning the trade while assisting with preparation, handling, and supplying materials used by other crafts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Load and unload equipment
2. Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5x7x16) and staging
3. Level ground for scaffolding
4. Tend motor and grout
5. Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets
6. General cleanup and debris removal, including sweeping, washing, and loading or burning debris
7. Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
8. Vibrate concrete
9. Build relationships with team members from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
10. Perform all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Enrolled in Apprentice Aptitude Program
2. Experience in construction preferred
3. Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
4. Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, attention to detail, active listening, and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback
5. Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements
6. *Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
7. Note: Lifting over 50 lbs will require assistance or equipment
