Qualifications

• Experience: 1+ years of general construction labor in heavy civil, underground utilities, or heavy earthwork.
• Grade checking: Basic knowledge and experience with laser levels or grade stakes.
• Physical stamina: Able to perform strenuous labor in varying weather.
• Licensing: Valid Driver's License with clean driving record; OSHA 10 preferred.
• Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and available for early mornings, overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Site preparation: Clear debris, brush and hazards; dig trenches and backfill excavations.
• Material handling: Load, unload and transport materials and tools to/from work areas.
• Utility & pipe work: Assist pipelayers with water, sewer and storm drain pipes.
• Concrete & asphalt: Help pour, smooth and level concrete/asphalt; set forms and remove old pavement.
• Equipment operation: Safely operate motorized equipment and power tools.
• Site maintenance: Keep work areas clean; secure and store tools after shifts.
• Grade checking: Assist foreman with elevations and slopes.
• Safety compliance: Follow OSHA rules and wear PPE.
