Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. is hiring a Laborer III in Granite City, IL. The position is fully on-site with a Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm schedule and weekly pay.

Expected duties include organizing metal material, maintaining housekeeping, and assembling/packing metals for shipping. The role requires physical effort and adherence to safety procedures. Responsibilities include training new staff, operating machines for metal separation, and collaborating across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must follow health and safety regulations and wear PPE as required (hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, etc.).
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Able to meet attendance schedules with dependability and consistency.
• Maintain safety as a high priority and follow OSHA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trainer for new employees in Laborer I/II roles and assist in training staff on equipment operation and production requirements.
• Sort and organize metal material into bins, boxes, or bags.
• Operate and observe machines that chop and separate metals.
• Sort material by hand at shredder, shaker table, or other machines.
• Dismantle metal using hand tools or other mechanical means.
• Demonstrate ability to work in two or more departments and operate a forklift.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals.
