Pay: $20.57/hr

Health & Welfare: $8.34 - $10.96/hr up to 40 hours per week

Scope of Work:

The Laborer Grounds Maintenance performs various tasks to maintain Fort Carson property.

Responsibilities:

• Cut grass using walk-behind or riding mowers.
• Use weed eaters to cut grass or weeds in ditches and high inclines; lift and carry lawn equipment.
• Trim hedges, edges, prune shrubs and trees, and spray lawn with fertilizers or insecticides.
• Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
• Water lawns and shrubs; rake and remove debris.
• Remove snow and ice; spread salt.
• Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, and other structures.
• Assist in repairs of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
• Drive small equipment or vehicles, such as ATVs and tractors.
• Use signals to direct other operators.
• Produce quality work and complete training timely.
• Perform duties safely and securely.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience and/or training in grounds maintenance and operation of small trucks and equipment.
• Ability to pass a Tier 1 background check.
• Ability to work independently or in a team, adapt quickly, and communicate effectively in English.
• Physical ability to perform tasks in various weather conditions, lift up to 60 lbs, and work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; ability to pass drug and criminal checks.
