Job summary

SQUAN is seeking a field technician in Kent, WA to assist with the installation and maintenance of fiber communication systems across cell towers, antennas, cables, and ground equipment. You will load and unload materials, operate CDL-class trucks, and support crews with site prep and cleanup.

This role requires outdoor work in all weather and occasional travel to job sites. The position emphasizes safety, with adherence to OSHA standards and required DOT screening.

Qualifications

  • Experience in operating various hand tools.
  • DOT physical and drug screening required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
  • Willingness to work at heights and in outdoor environments.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation and maintenance of fiber communication systems (cell towers, antennas, cables, and ground equipment).
  • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Operate company vehicles, including CDL-class trucks, in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Support crews with ground operations (site prep, cleanup, etc.).
  • Perform basic construction tasks such as digging, trenching, concrete work, and site restoration.
  • Follow safety protocols, including OSHA standards and fall protection guidelines.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working condition.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
  • Travel to job sites as required (may include overnight stays).

Job description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in operating various hand tools

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience in telecom, construction, or utility work.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certified
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., Skid steer, bucket truck)
  • Knowledge of RF (radio frequency) equipment and cabling
  • CPR/First Aid certified.
