Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer Apprentice I to learn the trade while assisting with preparation, handling, and supplying of materials for use by other crafts.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, erecting scaffolding, leveling ground, operating vibrators and pumps, and cleaning work areas. This entry-level role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and building relationships across the organization.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Apprentice Aptitude Program
• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment (power and non-powered)
• Strong teamwork and customer service orientation; effective communication
• Repetitive hand/arm/legs movements; lifting up to 50 lbs
• Lifting/pulling up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed
• Position may change without notice
• No sponsorship provided for visa status

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend motor and grout
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout
• General cleanup and debris removal
• Place/push/shovel/finish concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Build relationships across diverse teams
• All other duties as assigned
