Job summary

Mortenson in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Laborer Apprentice I to learn the trade while assisting with preparation, handling, and supplying of materials used by other crafts.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, erecting scaffolding, leveling ground, tending equipment, moving mortar and grout, cleaning work areas, placing and vibrating concrete, and building positive relationships across diverse teams; not all duties listed.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Apprentice Aptitude Program.
• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to work with tools and equipment (power and non-powered).
• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, customer service skills, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding and staging.
• Level ground for scaffolding.
• Tend motor and grout.
• Move and place mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
• General cleanup and debris removal.
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
• Vibrate concrete.
• Build relationships across diverse teams.
• All other duties as assigned.
