A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LABORER

As a Laborer, you play a critical role in helping us successfully complete infrastructure projects, including roadwork, highways, bridges, airports, and sitework. You may contribute to a variety of construction projects involving paving, excavation, curbing, and trenching. Using physical strength, you perform manual work and utilize various equipment including hand and power tools. Day-to-day responsibilities may include patching asphalt, pouring and shaping sidewalks, operating compactors, raking, shoveling, traffic control, and site maintenance. You prioritize the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and the general public.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LABORER

  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma/GED is preferred.
  • Have or be able to obtain OSHA 10/30 certification.

Prior related construction experience, including a bility to operate a compactor and valid driver's license is desired. Ability to work nights and travel to the islands are strongly desired.

WORK SCHEDULE

Our peak construction periods are in the Spring and Fall. Work is dependent on project-based needs, however a majority of our employees work 40+ hours during peak periods, and as needed during off seasons (typically 9-10 months/year) . Typical work days begin around 6:30 am and finished by 5:00 pm.
