Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to assist in the production of cored wire by helping line operators and preparing the finished product for shipment. The role may also include work in shipping, receiving, and fabrication areas.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Handle powders properly for identification, storage, and disposal.
2. Follow SOPs for labeling and identifying materials (DOT, trial, cage I.D., color-coded labels) per customer specifications.
3. Operate equipment safely, including forklift, overhead crane, stretch wrap machine, welder, bander, strip de-coiler, scrap cutter, powder mixer, vacuum, and other small tools.
4. Weld straps or band finished cages after completion. Weigh, identify, package, and store finished materials for shipment.
5. Ensure line operators have proper strip sizes and gauges, recording necessary information.
6. Maintain and clean tools such as banders, crimpers, pliers, and others.
7. Follow production schedules and prepare equipment accordingly.
8. Store empty pallets and manage floor sweepings appropriately.
9. Fill flow-bins with powders, adhering to OSHA restrictions.
10. Cut scrap into barrels and identify powders using the mixer when possible.
11. Utilize production computer systems effectively.
12. Maintain logs for forklift and crane maintenance.
13. Participate in general cleanliness and safety of the production facility.
14. Assist in all production areas as needed.
15. Attend safety meetings as required.

Skills and Experience:

1. High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
2. Experience with forklift, crane, and welding is a plus.
3. Previous manufacturing or production experience is preferred.
4. Dependability and punctuality are essential. Overtime may be required.
5. Willingness to work day/night shifts and cover absences.
6. Schedule may change on short notice based on customer demand.
7. Use of gloves and eye protection is common.
8. Reliable transportation is necessary.
9. Cooperative attitude with coworkers and supervisors.
