Job summary

Garney Construction is hiring an entry-level Laborer to assist the crew and learn essential construction skills. Weekly pay starts at $20 per hour, with overtime opportunities and industry-leading benefits. The role supports daily tasks and site activity, helping you start a career in construction.

Ideal candidates are active, ready to work long days, and able to operate common tools. Garney provides OSHA-10 and fall protection certifications and values reliability and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to complete Fall Protection Certification (Garney).

• Must have access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew with daily tasks using various techniques and equipment.
• Operate pneumatic and electrical tools such as vibrators, cut-off saws and jackhammers.
• Lift, carry, and place building materials, tools, and supplies.
• Join, wrap, seal, and bed pipes and penetrations.

A Laborer position is available at Garney. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

This position is focused on assisting the crew with the completion of daily tasks with the use of a variety of techniques and equipment.

Examples of daily tasks:

• Maintaining and operating pneumatic and electrical tools, such as concrete vibrators, compactors, concrete saws, cut-off saws, jackhammers, and hand-operated trenchers


• Lifting, carrying, and holding building materials, tools, and supplies


• Joining, wrapping, sealing, and bedding sections of underground pipe and pipe penetrations

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for hard-working individuals who enjoy being active and working on their feet throughout the day. The ideal candidate must also be able to use essential tools such as tape measurers, hammers, tool belts, and lineman pliers to perform their assigned tasks accurately.
