Job summary

Garney Construction in Texas is seeking an entry-level Laborer to support the crew and learn essential construction skills. The role offers weekly pay starting at $20 per hour, comprehensive benefits, and potential overtime opportunities.

You will assist with daily tasks, operate a range of tools, and gain hands-on experience in concrete and site work while building a career in construction.

Qualifications

• Able to work on feet all day.
• Willing to complete OSHA 10 certification (provided by Garney).
• Willing to complete Fall Protection Certification (provided by Garney).
• Willing to work overtime.
• Must have access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew with daily tasks using various techniques and equipment.
• Maintain and operate pneumatic and electrical tools (concrete vibrators, compactors, saws, jackhammers).
• Lift, carry, and place building materials and supplies.
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Laborer position is focused on assisting the crew with the completion of daily tasks with the use of a variety of techniques and equipment.

Examples of daily tasks:

• Maintaining and operating pneumatic and electrical tools, such as concrete vibrators, compactors, concrete saws, cut-off saws, jackhammers, and hand-operated trenchers
• Lifting, carrying, and holding building materials, tools, and supplies
• Mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete, asphalt gravel, and other material using hand tools

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for hard-working individuals who enjoy being active and working on their feet throughout the day. The ideal candidate must also be able to use essential tools such as tape measurers, hammers, tool belts, and lineman pliers to perform their assigned tasks accurately.

Requirements:

• Must be able to work on their feet for an entire day
• Must be willing to complete OSHA 10 (provided by Garney)
• Must be willing to complete "Fall Protection Certification" (provided by Garney)
• Must be willing to work overtime
• Must have access to reliable transportation
