Job Description

The Construction Laborer will perform a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of electricians and other workers on the construction site.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist skilled workers as assigned, including tasks such as carrying conduit or ladders.
2. Unload materials and distribute them to designated locations as directed by the supervisor, project plans, or specifications.
3. Clean and prepare specific areas of the job site, which may include digging trenches, erecting scaffolding, cleaning rubble, debris, or hazardous materials.
4. Assist equipment operators with the alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
5. Clean the job site at the end of each day, ensuring proper disposal of trash and proper storage of materials and equipment.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments.
• Ability to work with various personalities.
• Basic arithmetic skills for counting and inventory.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED required. Prior job experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina to perform jobs in various areas, including ceiling crawl spaces and equipment enclosures.
• Ability to lift arms above shoulder level for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push/pull 50-pound loads.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights over ten feet.
• Ability to walk on rough surfaces and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
