Job summary

Associated Terminals is seeking laborers to assist with loading and unloading vessels and moving cargo within the terminal. The role operates in an outdoor marine environment with rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, emphasizing safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include equipment checks, rigging, maintenance, and aiding crane operators. Training is provided, and PPE is supplied to support safe operations.

Qualifications

  • TWIC card is required.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and at different elevations.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving materials.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload cargo within vessels and warehouses.
  • Inspect cables and rigging components of equipment.
  • Perform minor maintenance and lubrication on equipment.
  • Provide signals to crane operators (flagging).
  • Carry out general rigging tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of decks, warehouses and holds.
  • Ensure walkways are free of hazards.
  • Clean oil/grease from equipment and work areas.
  • Move cargo throughout the terminal facility.
  • Fuel equipment as necessary.
  • Use hand tools (shovels, sledgehammers, wrenches, screwdrivers).
  • Report incidents per company protocols.
  • Support safety initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload various cargoes within vessels and warehouses
  • Inspect cables and rigging components of equipment
  • Perform minor maintenance and lubrication on equipment and machinery
  • Provide directional signals to crane operators (flagging)
  • Carry out general rigging tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness of decks, warehouses, and ship holds
  • Ensure all walking areas are free of trip hazards and dangerous materials
  • Clean excess oil and grease from equipment and work areas
  • Move cargo throughout the terminal facility
  • Fuel equipment as necessary
  • Use hand tools such as shovels, sledgehammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers
  • Report all incidents according to company protocols
  • Support and participate in company safety initiatives
