Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Technologist - Generalist for full-time evening shifts (4:00 pm–12:00 am) with alternate weekends and rotating holidays. The role involves performing routine and complex tests across Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry and Microbiology, with strict QC and accurate documentation.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent) and NYS licensure; ASCP certification preferred; minimum two years

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent).
• New York State licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex tests across Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry and Microbiology.
• Perform quality control procedures and document results; follow-up on out-of-range results.
• Work evening shift with alternate weekends and rotating holidays.

Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in various areas of the laboratory at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/The Allen Hospital, including Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry and Microbiology. Perform quality control procedures for all tests as dictated by policy and document all results; follow-up on out of range results.

This is a full-time evening shift position working 4:00 pm- 12am including alternate weekends plus rotating holidays. Location is our Allen campus in Upper Manhattan/Inwood.

Preferred Criteria

• ASCP certification
• Minimum of two years experience as a Laboratory Technologist in Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology

Required Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent curriculum)

New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education Department Salary Range: $54.72-$68.06/Hourly
