Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Technologist - Generalist for the Day shift (8:00 am–4:00 pm) on a full-time basis, with alternate weekends and rotating holidays. Location: Allen campus in Upper Manhattan/Inwood.

This role conducts routine and complex tests across Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation and Microbiology, performs QC, documents results, and follows up on out of-range results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent curriculum) required.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure required.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience in Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology.

Responsibilities

• Conduce routine and complex tests on clinical specimens across Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry and Microbiology.
• Perform quality control procedures and document all results; follow up on out-of-range results.

Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in various areas of the laboratory at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/The Allen Hospital, including Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry and Microbiology. Perform quality control procedures for all tests as dictated by policy and document all results; follow‑up on out of range results.

This is a full‑time day shift position working 8:00 am - 4:00 pm including alternate weekends plus rotating holidays. Location is our Allen campus in Upper Manhattan/Inwood.

Preferred Criteria

• ASCP certification
• Minimum of two years experience as a Laboratory Technologist in Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology

• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education Department
