Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/The Allen Hospital in Upper Manhattan seeks a Laboratory Technologist - Generalist for a full-time day shift (8:00 am - 4:00 pm) with occasional weekends and rotating holidays. You will perform tests across Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry and Microbiology, ensuring QC and accurate documentation.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, NY licensure, and ASCP certification preferred; at least two years' experience in

• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure required.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience as a Laboratory Technologist in Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests across Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry and Microbiology.
• Document results, perform quality control, and follow up on out-of-range results.

Conduct routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in various areas of the laboratory at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/The Allen Hospital, including Blood Bank, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry and Microbiology. Perform quality control procedures for all tests as dictated by policy and document all results; follow-up on out of range results.

This is a full-time day shift position working 8:00 am - 4:00 pm including alternate weekends plus rotating holidays. Location is our Allen campus in Upper Manhattan/Inwood.

Preferred Criteria

• ASCP certification
• Minimum of two years experience as a Laboratory Technologist in Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology

• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education Department
