Job summary

The Werner Lab at the University of Utah is recruiting a Laboratory Technician with experience in nematode handling and maintenance. Job Summary

The Werner lab is looking to hire a technician that has experienceworking with nematodes. Ideally, the candidate will have experiencewith micro-injection, CRISPR, and general maintenance of nematodecultures. Technical experience with chromatin immunoprecipitationand ATAC-seq is also preferable. Finally, background knowledge inmolecular biology and epigenetics is ideal.

Responsibilities

Perform laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses. Prepare andweigh samples for testing and analysis. Conduct tests, assays, andother protocols under the direction of a laboratory servicesmanager, physician, nurse, or scientist. Follow Standard OperatingProcedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). Ensure alllaboratory equipment and work areas are clean, sterile, and inproper working order. May be responsible for calibration ofinstruments. Senior-level support role. Completes assignments withlittle supervision. May assist less-experienced team members.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following joblevels:

• Laboratory Technician, I: Requires little to norelated experience.
• Laboratory Technician, II: Requires at least 1year of related experience.
• Laboratory Technician, III: Requires 3+ years ofrelated experience.
