Job summary

LANXESS is seeking a Laboratory Professional in Chardon, OH, to execute experiments, test products, and support development programs. This role requires hands-on polymer testing, accurate documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams across the Americas.

Responsibilities include contributing to lab method creation, data reporting, and quality testing while supporting safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a lab environment.
• Hands-on capability with polymer weighing, mixing, compounding and testing equipment; familiarity with lab instrumentation software, IT systems, and data capture tools.
• Strong oral and written communication to support outside customer interactions under supervision.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, ISO 9001, safety, quality, and continuous improvement practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute laboratory experiments, product evaluations, application testing, and standardized test methods.
• Mix and test products designed by the Application Technology team, including sample preparation, prototypes, trial batches, and customer-specific formulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of test procedures, summarize lab results, and report findings under supervision.
• Conduct quality testing for raw materials and product consistency; support plant chemist as needed.
• Assist with creation and upkeep of test methods, TDS, SDS, ISO documents, and technical documents for the Application Technology Laboratory.
