Job summary

LyondellBasell's Cincinnati Technology Center is seeking a Laboratory Associate to support polymer processing activities at the site in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role involves operating processing equipment, documenting results, and maintaining safe laboratory practices.

The Lab Associate will contribute to polymer product and process development, participate in team-driven problem solving, and help drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivity with researchers and equipment specialists.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, or R&D processing experience.
• Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and operating industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-controlled equipment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to safely perform physical work, wear PPE, and obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and foster a strong safety culture.
• Operate polymer processing equipment and document results using laboratory systems.
• Serve as the technical owner of assigned equipment, ensuring reliable operation through troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and calibrations.
• Develop and maintain operating procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.
• Collaborate with researchers, maintenance, vendors, and project teams to support business objectives.
• Support equipment qualifications, upgrades, and capital projects.
• Diagnose and resolve process, equipment, and product quality issues while maintaining accurate operational records.
• Assist researchers in addressing polymer processing and manufacturability challenges.
