Join our laboratory team at The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital, where you’ll support high-volume outpatient care in one of the nation’s busiest outpatient centers. You’ll contribute to both clinical laboratory testing, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and point-of-care testing, and high-volume outpatient phlebotomy services, supporting hematology/oncology and many other specialty clinics. Team members work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment that focuses on collaboration to ensure accurate, timely results and a quality patient experience. Job Description

To perform all duties related to the preparation, distribution, cataloging, and storage of lab specimens for testing. To adhere to departmental specimen identification policies and quality controls. To utilize lab and hospital information systems and provide general administrative support to the laboratory staff in support of laboratory operations, such as filing, record maintenance, responding to client calls, and mail delivery.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. Depending on the unit/department or if the position works directly with patients, Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required or required to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
