Job summary

Jacksonville ER & Hospital, LLC is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to support the development of a new micro hospital's clinical laboratory. The role focuses on testing, quality control, instrument readiness, documentation, proficiency testing, and quality improvement within a moderately complex lab.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation, quality control, troubleshooting, and documentation is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and operate equipment per procedures and authorization.
• Document and respond to quality control results.
• Assist with method verification, validation, and linearity studies as applicable.
• Troubleshoot testing and equipment issues; coordinate service and maintenance.
• Monitor instrument readiness and maintain maintenance records.
• Manage inventory, reagents, supplies, expiration dates, and lot numbers.
• Collect, prepare, handle, and process specimens per protocols.
• Maintain accurate laboratory logs, procedures, and quality records.
• Assist with staff training and competency documentation.
• Support proficiency testing management and corrective actions as assigned.
• Adhere to regulatory standards and safety policies.
