A leading company in mineral processing is seeking a Mineral Processing Lab Technician in Tucson, Arizona. The role involves carrying out tasks assigned by senior technicians, maintaining lab equipment, and performing chemical analyses. Candidates should have a minimum of a high school diploma and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills. The position requires physical activity and may involve working evenings or weekends.
Pay Rate: $14.50 per hour
The primary responsibilities of a mineralogy laboratory technician are to carry out tasks assigned by the Metallurgical Engineer, Sr Metallurgical Technician, or supervisor, safely and efficiently. Tasks vary and will be trained for each specific duty. Most tasks will have written procedures and require prior training.
Constant physical activities include lifting (11-20 lbs.), pushing, pulling, seeing, hearing, talking, and repetitive hand motions. Frequent activities involve lifting (21-50 lbs.), walking, and balancing. Occasional activities include walking on uneven surfaces, stooping, and sitting.
Work is indoors with protection from weather, but exposure to noise, vibration, fumes, dust, gases, and chemicals is possible. PPE and respirators are required as necessary.
