• Pay Range: Hiring Range: $22.16 - $26.04 Per Hour; Full Range: $22.16 - $29.92 Per Hour

Pima County Wastewater Reclamation Department seeks talented individuals for our Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Laboratory team. Relevant experience in laboratory analysis or a bachelor’s degree in science (e.g., chemistry, biology, environmental science) is required. Responsibilities include collecting water samples, analyzing samples by various methods, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Join us to help protect human health and the environment.

Work hours are 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., operating 365 days a year, with some holidays and weekends required.

Essential Functions

• Collect and test water, solid waste, and wastewater samples.
• Perform standardized tests such as BOD, COD, DO, microbiological examinations, and others.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, calibrate instruments, and document procedures.
• Maintain inventory, safety procedures, and laboratory records.
• Assist in training staff and participate in audits and quality control procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, environmental science, or related field, plus two years of laboratory testing experience. Relevant education and experience must be documented in the application.

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent experience (last five years) in water or wastewater laboratory analysis and sample collection.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, equipment calibration, data entry, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
• Minimum six months recent laboratory work experience.
