Job summary

Bell- in Fredericksburg, PA is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician I for the 2nd shift. The role performs routine microbiological, chemical, and organoleptic testing to support Food Safety/QA, Hatchery, Live Operations, and R&D teams, developing foundational lab skills and following established procedures.

The position focuses on accurate test execution, daily lab upkeep, and contribution to safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s, Associate’s degree, or certificate in Microbiology, Food Science, or related field.
Basic proficiency in laboratory techniques preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and communication tools.
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
ISO 17025 or LIMS experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Routine Microbiological and Chemical Testing: perform qualitative and quantitative analyses on product/environmental samples and basic chemical tests (moisture, fat, protein, ash, pH).
New Product Development Support: participate in sensory analyses and shelf-life studies.
Laboratory Operations: maintain inventory, prepare media/reagents, monitor instruments, follow cleaning schedules.
Quality & Compliance: follow GLPs, participate in proficiency testing, document testing accurately, communicate failures to relevant departments, participate in audits and meetings.
