Job summary

Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the front line of patient care. You will process and prepare specimens for referral laboratories, identify specimen issues, and implement corrective actions in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role requires an accredited associate degree in lab science or MLT, plus 1 year of relevant experience. You will work with automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, and pipettes while upholding safety and

Qualifications

At minimum an associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing.
Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.

Responsibilities

Process and prepare specimens for referral laboratories.
Identify specimen issues and resolve issues with specimen types.
Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions.
Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards.
Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.
