Job summary

Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Laboratory Technician on a full-time, first-shift basis.

You will process and prepare specimens for dispatch to reference laboratories, identify specimen issues, and implement corrective actions when needed. The role involves working in a fast-paced lab with biological and chemical hazards, with emphasis on safety, compliance and quality control.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• 1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment (e.g., analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, pipettes).

Responsibilities

• Perform a vital part in processing and preparing specimens for reference laboratories.
• Identify specimen issues and resolve issues with specimen types when possible.
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement solutions.
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards.
• Champion safety, compliance and quality control.
