Job summary

Onterris is seeking a Laboratory Technician I for our Richmond, VA laboratory, supporting multiple projects with a collaborative team. The role offers an overnight schedule Thursday–Sunday, 5pm–3:30am, and a pay range of $20.00 to $24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

You will prepare samples, reagents and assist with instrumentation and QA programs. Ideal for candidates with a High School diploma or GED, basic lab knowledge, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Some lab experience is preferred but not required as entry level.
  • Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety.
  • Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (oral and written).
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for analysis.
  • Prepare reagents for lab use and/or shipment.
  • Perform sample extractions.
  • Determine the volume of samples.
  • Clean laboratory glassware.
  • Maintain clean and organized lab areas.
  • Maintain records of sample preparation and analysis.
  • Courier supplies to and from client sites.
  • Assist with projects to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist Group Leaders with inventory of consumables and lab parts.
  • Dispose of laboratory waste safely and per procedures.
  • Adhere to QA and Health & Safety plans.

A Day in the Life

As a Laboratory Technician I in our Richmond, VA lab, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.

The compensation range for this role is $20.00 to $24.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

Schedule: Overnight position Thursday - Sunday, 5pm - 3:30am shift

To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Preparation of samples for analysis
  • Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
  • Sample extractions
  • Determining the volume of samples
  • Cleaning of laboratory glassware
  • Maintaining clean laboratory areas
  • Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
  • Courier supplies to and/or samples from client sites
  • Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses
  • Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
  • Dispose of laboratory waste in a safe manner following prescribed procedures
  • Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director
