Job summary

Lehman College in the Bronx, part of the City University of New York, invites applications for a full-time College Laboratory Technician in the Human Performance and Fitness laboratory, starting Spring 2027.

You will manage and maintain the lab equipment and software, assist with courses like Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, and Motor Learning, ensure safety, and support teaching with technology in on-campus settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with eight years related experience; higher education may substitute for experience.
• Ability to direct, train, and supervise others.
• Proficiency with Exercise Science Lab equipment (metabolic carts, EMG, motion capture systems, treadmills, ergometers).
• Experience with data handling, calculations, and data cleaning.
• Familiarity with Qualtrics, SPSS, motion analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and organize student laboratories.
• Assist students with experiments and equipment use.
• Maintain safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage laboratory inventories and purchasing of consumables.
• Support lab operations in Human Performance and Fitness labs.
