Job summary

Job Title: Laboratory Technician


Location: Seattle, WA


Job Type: Full-time


Salary: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour


Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Day shift (8 AM – 5 PM)

Job Summary

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of various testing processes. Your responsibilities will include sample collection, processing, and analysis while adhering to strict protocols. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in laboratory procedures, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Customer Service:

  • Greet and assist clients with professionalism and courtesy.

  • Provide clear instructions and address client inquiries or concerns.

  • Laboratory Testing:

  • Collect and process samples (such as urine, hair, saliva) following established protocols.

  • Perform pre-employment and random drug testing for various clients.

  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is calibrated and maintained correctly.

  • Administrative Tasks:

  • Manage phone calls, schedule appointments, and handle client inquiries.

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of tests and results.

  • Assist in managing laboratory supplies and inventory.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Adhere to safety and quality control procedures to ensure accurate test results.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Professional Development:

  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.


Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a scientific field is preferred.

  • Previous experience in a laboratory setting is highly desirable.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to learn quickly and take initiative.

  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.

  • A team player with strong communication skills.
