Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join the Tukwila, WA team. The role supports receipt and processing of clinical lab specimens, data entry, and routine maintenance in a high-volume setting. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 4:30 am–1:00 pm, with potential overtime and weekend rotation.

Minimum qualification is a high school diploma; preferred candidates hold a B.S. in Medical Lab Science, Biology or Chemistry and have some lab experience. Benefits include comprehensive options and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Science, Biology or Chemistry.
• Experience: 6+ months hospital or lab specimen processing.
• Experience: 6+ months in a clinical or research laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is functioning and perform basic maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies and maintain a clean work area.
• Complete logs and perform administrative duties as requested.
• Follow SOPs to ensure safety and quality standards.

PAML a Labcorp company is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Tukwila, WA.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 4:30 am to 1:00 pm overtime and rotating weekends may be required.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Science, Biology, Chemistry
• 6 months or more hospital or lab specimen processing
• 6 Months or more in a clinical or research laboratory

• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

This role works in a high volume, production base environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.

Pay Range: $21.65 - $27.38 per hour

Plus 3rd Shift Differential.

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
