Job summary

Alliance Technical Group in Seattle, WA is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine bench chemistry tasks, log samples, prepare reagents, and maintain safety and documentation.

The role may include specialized analysis work to improve workflow; reporting non-conformances to the Laboratory Manager and QA Manager. Requires HS Diploma or GED; Associate degree in physical science preferred; proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; associates degree in physical science preferred.
• Experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain logs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all samples received by the laboratory are logged in according to the appropriate procedure including labeling, logging, etc.
• Maintain a clean and organized lab space
• Prepare reagents at the direction of the Laboratory Manager
• Perform a specific analysis, or portion of analysis, at the direction of the Laboratory Manager
• Report non-conformances to the QAM and Laboratory Manager

Job description

Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Reports To: The Laboratory Technician reports directly to the Laboratory Manager, with dotted-line reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM).

Jon Summary

A Laboratory Technician (Tech) is a bench chemistry associate whose main responsibility is to perform routine operations within a laboratory setting. This includes preparing reagents, cleaning glassware, organizing and sorting supplies, and logging in samples. The Tech may also be specialized in one type of analysis for the purposes of improving laboratory workflow. The Tech is responsible for following all documented procedures, recording all laboratory notes, and elevating technical issues to the laboratory manager.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Ensure that all samples received by the laboratory are logged in according to the appropriate procedure including labeling, logging, etc.


• Maintain a clean and organized lab space


• Prepare reagents at the direction of the Laboratory Manager


• Perform a specific analysis, or portion of analysis, at the direction of the Laboratory Manager


• Report non-conformances to the QAM and Laboratory Manager

Pay Rate

• $21.30/hr - $25.96/hr

Required Skills And Abilities

• General familiarity with laboratory safety. Previous laboratory experience preferred.


• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions


• Intermediate skill level (or above) in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.


• Professional appearance and behavior

Education / Experience

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent. Associates Degree or higher in a physical science preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to meet the physical demands of a typical laboratory environment
