Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine QA laboratory duties under supervision. You will conduct chemical analyses, calibrate equipment, and record data to ensure product quality.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1+ year of experience, with strong communication and basic computer skills. Typical schedule is Mon–Fri with potential weekend work, and benefits begin after the probation period.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs routine laboratory operations according to prescribed standards.
• Determines chemical and physical characteristics of samples.
• Sets up, adjusts, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Analyzes samples and conducts routine quantitative/qualitative tests.
• Tests feed ingredients for nutritional properties and pesticides.
• Records results and verifies conformity to specifications.
• Cleans and calibrates laboratory instruments; handles chemical solutions per formulas.
• Ensures safe chemical handling and proper storage of materials.
• May require availability outside of normal business hours.

Laboratory Technician

Pilgrim’s is seeking a lab technician, u nder general supervision performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance. Duties usually consist of making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative chemical analytical tests, performing routine calculations and determinations on tests, and evaluating physical characteristics. Uses standard laboratory glassware and equipment or one or two complex pieces of equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory work according to prescribed standards
• Determines chemical and physical characteristics or composition
• Sets up, adjusts, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments
• Analyzes samples. Performs laboratory tests according to prescribed standards
• Tests for nutritional properties of feed and ingredients and pesticides
• Tests samples to verify conformity to specifications. Records test results
• Cleans laboratory equipment. Calibrates laboratory instruments
• Assists with the preparation of chemical solutions according to standard formulas
• Safe chemical handling
• Move chemicals and transport them to outside chemical storage building
• Sample preparation involving grinding of sample
• May require availability outside of normal business hours

What You’ll Need

• Education: High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience: 1 or more years of previous experience
• Skills: Effective communication both orally and in writing
• Must have basic computer knowledge, ability to manage multiple priorities, good math skills.
