Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a lab technician to join our Quality Assurance & Food Safety team in Gainesville, GA. Under general supervision, you will perform routine laboratory operations, tests, and analyses to verify product quality and safety.

Responsibilities include performing chemical analyses, calibrating equipment, and ensuring adherence to specifications. Previous QA/food safety lab experience and strong communication skills are preferred. This role may require after-hours work as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years of laboratory experience in QA/food safety.
• Strong verbal and written communication; basic math and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine lab operations in quality assurance.
• Measure and test chemical and physical characteristics.
• Set up and operate laboratory equipment.
• Analyze samples and record results.
• Test for nutritional properties and pesticides in feeds.
• Ensure test results meet specifications.
• Calibrate equipment and prepare chemical solutions.
• Handle chemicals safely and transport as required.
• Occasionally work outside normal hours.

Pilgrim’s is seeking a lab technician , u nder general supervision performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance. Duties usually consist of making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative chemical analytical tests, performing routine calculations and determinations on tests, and evaluating physical characteristics. Uses standard laboratory glassware and equipment or one or two complex pieces of equipment.

• Performs laboratory work acc ording to prescribed standards
• Determines chemical and physical characteristics or composition
• Sets up, adjusts, and operates labora tory equipment and instruments
• Analyzes samples. Performs laboratory tests acc ording to prescribed standards
• Tests for nutritional properties of feed and ingredients and pesticides
• Tests samples to verify conformity to specif ications. Records test results
• Cleans laboratory equipment. Calibrates laboratory instruments
• Assists with the preparation of chemical solutions according to standard formulas
• Safe chemical handling
• Move chemicals and transport them to outside chemical storage building
• Sample preparation involving grinding of sample
• May require availability o utside of normal business hours

What You’ll Need

• Education: High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience: 1 or more years of previous experience
• Skills: Effective communication both orally and in writing
• M ust have basic computer knowledge, ability to manage multiple priorities, good math skills.
