OBJECTIVE: Play a key role in developing and evaluating new products and designs, conducting various material and mechanical tests, and ensuring the lab operates efficiently and safely. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Research and Development, ensuring alignment with the department’s strategic goals and initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the team to develop, evaluate, and improve new products and designs.
• Adhere to established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory processes to ensure high-quality results.
• Conduct fluid and chemical compatibility tests, as well as mechanical and material testing across a variety of materials.
• Assemble and disassemble customized test stands for specialized testing projects.
• Accurately document test data in databases, reports, and lab records; archive test results systematically for future reference.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
• Calibrate and maintain lab equipment to ensure reliable operation and test accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various projects, providing support and expertise as needed.
• Monitor and organize inventory to ensure sufficient lab supplies and materials are available.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Associate degree and/or minimum of 2 years of experience in a testing lab environment (mechanical testing is preferred).
• Knowledge: Basic understanding of material/polymer principles and mechanics.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and other standard software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform physical duties required for testing, including sitting, bending, standing, reaching, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
