Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network in Phillipsburg, NJ is seeking a Laboratory Technical Coordinator (full-time days) to serve as technical expert in assigned areas, performing waived to highly complex tests and guiding training and quality control.

Responsibilities include supervising staff in the absence of the supervisor, maintaining QA reports, coordinating schedules, troubleshooting LIS and equipment issues, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a fast-paced clinical laboratory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• ASCP eligible or eligibility: MLT/HT ASCP considered; laboratory oversight.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience in non-waived testing in the designated area.

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical expertise to perform patient testing as needed in the assigned area.
• Collaborate with Laboratory Site Manager to maintain the Network Quality Management program.
• Review laboratory procedures biannually and submit revisions for network review.
• Assist in staff scheduling and coverage, manage time-keeper (Kronos).
• Review equipment maintenance and troubleshoot operations.
• Analyze quality control data and implement corrective actions with proper documentation.
• Review proficiency testing results and investigate unacceptable results.
• Review quality assurance reports and initiate root cause analyses.
• Manage inventory and communicate needs to leadership.
• Perform tests per established protocols and ensure accurate result documentation.
• Supervise daily activities in the absence of a supervisor.
• Assist LIS Analysts in resolving computer problems.
• Assess and document technical competency for staff within the area.
• Other related duties as assigned.
