JOB SUMMARY
The Laboratory Technical Assistant performs in-vitro analysis of biologic specimens according to established procedures for routine laboratory areas. Responsibilities include supporting quality control, instrument operation, limited troubleshooting, and problem resolution. The role focuses on a specific group of tests classified as waived or moderately complex under CLIA regulations.
Education
Minimum: None required. Preferred: Post-high school courses in basic lab techniques, chemistry, biology, or physical sciences from an accredited institution.
Experience
Minimum: Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment. Preferred: Previous laboratory experience and experience with Laboratory Information Systems.
Certifications/Licenses
Minimum: BLS certification from the AHA within three months of hire for those involved in direct patient care. Preferred: BLS certification at the time of hire.
Support specimen processing and collections as needed.
