JOB SUMMARY
The Laboratory Technical Assistant performs in-vitro analysis of biologic specimens according to established procedures. The role includes supporting functions such as quality control, instrument operation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. Responsibilities are limited to specific tests classified as waived or moderately complex under CLIA regulations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Educational qualifications beyond high school should be from an accredited institution recognized by the CHEA.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Post-high school courses in basic lab techniques, chemistry, biology, or physical sciences.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment.
Preferred/Optional: Previous lab experience and experience with Laboratory Information Systems.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Licenses, certifications, or registrations required for this position are subject to review if restricted.
Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within three months of hire for those involved in direct patient care.
Preferred/Optional: BLS certification at the time of hire for those involved in direct patient care.
Support specimen processing and collections as needed.
