Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; two years in a clinical environment with data processing/specimen handling experience.
• Language Ability: Read/write in English; present information to customers and colleagues.
• Math Ability: Basic arithmetic, rates, ratios, and percent; interpret simple graphs.
• Reasoning Ability: Follow instructions; handle problems with a few variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare specimens for transport and analysis.
• Perform simple QC and moderate complexity testing under direct supervision.
• Enter results into the Laboratory Information System under supervision.
• Calibrate pipettes and thermometers; record data per SOPs.
• Prepare reagents/controls and collect specimens with accurate labeling.
• Inventory supplies and restock; notify supervisor of shortages.
• Assist in CSI and continuing education programs.
