Job summary

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: high school diploma or GED; 2 years in a clinical environment with data handling.
• AS degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
• Graduate of health/medical assistant or similar training program.
• Must meet CLIA 88 requirements for moderate complexity testing.
• Ability to read/write English and present information clearly.
• Computer skills to use LIS and other software.

Responsibilities

• Processes and prepares specimens for transport and analysis.
• Perform basic quality control and moderate complexity testing under supervision.
• Enter results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Calibrate instruments and document data per SOPs.
• Prepare reagents and maintain inventory; report shortages.
• Assist with training of new staff or students.
• Adhere to SOPs for specimen handling and safety.
