Job summary

Mercy Health in Lourdes Hospital is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant to prepare specimens, register and accession orders, and perform pre-analytical and analytical procedures. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen collection, inventory management, and instrument support to ensure smooth laboratory operations.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, with preferred associates in biology or chemistry. Travel to off-site locations may be required as part of duties.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• Associates, Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community respectfully.
• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and transport to lab.
• Assist technologists with loading instruments, preparing reagents, and handling blood products.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and report problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Perform clerical duties such as stocking supplies and answering phones.
• Maintain inventory and waive testing materials as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
